These Type E filters are designed, constructed and tested to meet strict military specifications for applications where HEPA solutions are intended for biological use. This includes systems involving toxic chemical, carcinogenic, radiogenic or hazardous biological particulates.

The filters are classified as Type B, which means they are designed and tested to meet the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) AG-1 Code on Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment Section FC.
