AAF’s Clean Air Center provides testing and analysis services designed to help organizations confirm filtration performance, understand real-world contaminants, and make data-based filtration decisions.

When you should consider testing

Filter Performance Testing

The CAC’s filter lab includes multiple test ducts capable of evaluating performance to recognized industry standards. Customers use this service to validate performance, investigate field issues, and support product development or system optimization.

  • Resistance (pressure drop)
  • Remaining life evaluations (where applicable)
  • End-of-life comparisons and performance trending (interpret with real-world variability in mind)

Bioaerosol & Biological Testing Laboratory

AAF’s Bioanalytics Program operates a biosafety‑level 2 (BSL‑2) bioaerosol laboratory equipped for microbiological, molecular, and biological‑performance testing. This laboratory supports agriculture, industrial, and commercial customers by providing high‑rigor evaluation of biological contaminants and filtration performance in environments where bioaerosols pose operational risk.

Laboratory capabilities:

  • Traditional microbiological testing
  • Molecular biological testing
  • Mold, bacteria, and viral surrogate evaluations
  • Viral efficacy testing for swine‑related applications (PRRS, PED)
  • Real‑time PCR analysis for rapid viral assessment
  • SEM‑based particulate visualization
  • Biological interpretation and guidance, including inference when specific agents cannot be directly tested

Bioaerosol & Biological Concern Testing

When biological contaminants are a primary concern, AAF's Bioanalytics Program provides targeted testing and interpretation through a biological lens to help customers understand real-world performance and risk.

Services include:

  • Filtration efficiency testing
  • Resistance and pressure-drop measurements
  • Remaining life assessments (as applicable)
  • Mold capture performance evaluations (when mold is the primary concern)
  • Biological risk interpretation to support decision-making and operational planning
  • Particulate visualization using SEM
  • Biological Interpretation and guidance, including inference when specific agents can’t be directly tested
