Dear valued colleagues and business partners – My most heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you

Towards the end of this difficult year the COVID-19 situation has evolved further and we are dealing with a significant global challenge. And as we all know the challenges continue!
While the virus threat is global in nature, the situation is different in each country and changing fast. Please follow the guidance from your local authorities. In addition to the immediate and grave health concerns, we are seeing a much wider impact on all of our lives as well as the global economy. Understandably, there is a great sense of unease everywhere.

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for what you have done already to get our company prepared to cope with this situation. Your commitment makes all the difference. I would also like to reassure you that as a company we are resilient. Over the course of 100 years (we as AAF celebrate our 100 year anniversary in 2021), we have faced and mastered many challenging moments. I am convinced that we will overcome this one too. And I would like to repeat the special responsibilities that a company like ours has at this time. Our air filtration products, services and solutions are essential to peoples’ lives. In moments like these our purpose and values matter a lot to the people and communities we serve.

I fully recognize I am demanding a lot, because all of us are also busy managing challenging personal and family situations at this moment. Your efforts made and will make a huge difference to our company and to our society. I would like to mention particularly our frontline employees and factory workers. Your commitment and your discipline are critical at this time to maintain business continuity. To overcome this unique challenge, I request all of you to stay focused on the three priorities I have outlined in earlier communication.

First, the safety of all of us is paramount. We can only make positive contributions and live our purpose and values, if we stay healthy.

Second, business continuity is key. We need to focus our efforts on securing supplies, manufacturing and logistics every step of the way.

And third, please keep on providing a helping hand to the communities around us and our many business partners. This is the moment to demonstrate grace under pressure. Many people and companies will be hit much harder than AAF. Please help them to get through this; it is part of our values and people will remember.

Due to our unique culture, we often refer to AAF as a family company. A challenging moment like this is the time to live family values. Your personal caring and help did make a lot of difference to our colleagues and their families. It will also make us a stronger and even more united team. Please keep on living and breathing the AAF team spirit.

Let me add a personal note. Along with everyone else at AAF I am working hard to cope with this crisis. Like most of you I also have a family to worry about. I am an AAF colleague, but also a father, a husband and a son. At times like these, the worry list can be long for all of us, there are no exceptions. But I am also convinced that we will get through this, if we do not lose our self-confidence and our energy.

I want to thank you again for your great efforts and contribution to our business during this past challenging year and your loyalty to our company.

I wish you and your families a relaxing and enjoyable holiday season and all the best for the New Year 2021.

Please, do look after yourselves and your families.

Stay safe and well!

Dr. Stefan Berbner, Chief Operating Officer
