The High Capacity AstroCel I is constructed in the same manner as the standard AstroCel I. The filter consists of water-proofed, fire-retardant fiberglass media formed into a series of pleats. The media is enclosed in and foam bonded to a filter frame made of 3/4" fire retardant particle board. Unique to the High Capacity model is a special design shallow crimp separator that allows for the use of more filter media. Gasketing is available on the upstream, downstream or both faces.

AstroCel HEPA filters are used primarily in “cleanrooms” and “clean benches,” areas which require the very highest levels of contamination control. High Capacity AstroCel I filters can be used in place of standard HEPA filters to obtain higher air flow at the same resistance or for lower resistance and longer life at the same air flow.
