The AstroCel I Gel Seal wood filter consists of water-proofed, fire-retardant fiberglass media formed into a series of pleats. Corrugated sheets of aluminum separate the pleats to permit maximum usage at minimum resistance. The media is enclosed in a plywood filter frame with a 3/8” wide x 3/4" deep groove in one face of the cell side. The groove is then filled with AAF PermaGel, a silicone sealant that resists drying or cracking over years of service life.

The AstroCel I Gel Seal filter installs in AAF and competitive knife-edge gel seal framing systems, side access housings, or Bag In/Bag Out units. HEPA efficiency makes these filters ideal in “cleanrooms” and “clean benches,” areas which require the very highest levels of contamination control. Gel Seal filters are also available in 99.99% efficiency. AAF extractor clips can be ordered for Bag-In/Bag-Out systems.
